Event description:

In the warmth of saunas ranging from health clubs to converted trailers, Finnish men — notorious for their inhibitions — cleanse themselves both physically and psychically. This 82-minute film is an intimate and poetic portrayal of national spirit and the human heart, with a deeply emotional and unforgettable finale. The film travels through Finland joining fathers, sons, brothers, comrades, even old adversaries, in a dazzling and unlikely array of saunas, speaking unguardedly about love, death, birth, friendship—life. In its simplicity and candor, the film records the raw and rare beauty of Finnish culture and landscape in magical images.

Food and refreshments provided at 6 PM; film screening will begin at 6:30 PM.
