Event description:

The Marywood University Chamber Singers are featured on an annual PBS broadcast in Pennsylvania and have performed on music series throughout the northeastern United States. Recent concert venues have included St. Francis of Assisi Cathedral in New Jersey, First Church in Boston, Notre Dame Basilica in Montreal, and several locales in California, Florida, Georgia, and Germany. Our 2015 tour will include performances at St. Patrick’s Cathedral in New York City, Faneuil Hall in Boston, and Arlington Street Church in Boston. The Marywood University Chamber Singers were one of eight finalists for the 2012 American Prize in Choral Performance. Rick Hoffenberg (M.M.A. ‘05; D.M.A. ‘09) conducts.

The 2015 tour program is entitled “Reincarnations,” featuring Samuel Barber’s set bearing that name, as well as pieces by Tye, Mealor, Elgar, Cornelius, Nystedt, and others. Every piece on the program is in some sense a reincarnation, or reworking of a pre-existing model in another form.
