The Yale Camerata combines forces with Yale Symphony Orchestra and Yale Glee Club to perform one of the most popular works of the 20th century, Carl Orff’s tremendous masterwork, Carmina Burana — an instantly recognizable piece that has been celebrated everywhere from concert halls to movie soundtracks. The piece is Orff’s greatest triumph and has secured itself firmly in the international repertoire since the 1930s. Complementing Orff’s epic ode to fate and passion is Schoenberg’s sublime and beautiful Verklärte Nacht, conducted by YSO assistant conductor and principal trumpet player Elias Brown.
