CALL FOR APPLICANTS

THE PETER B. KNOCK INTERN IN SACRED MUSIC AT RYE PRESBYTERIAN CHURCH

$10,000 to a graduate student for the 2016-2017 Academic Year

Eligibility:
An applicant should be an organist already enrolled in, or accepted into, a
course of study of the performance of sacred music, at the graduate level, at
an accredited school, college, or university within a reasonable traveling
distance from Rye, New York.

Overview of Internship Goals and Time Commitment:
The goal of the internship is to provide a hands-on educational experience
that includes regular playing and conducting opportunities within the context
of worship and rehearsal. Rye Presbyterian Church is graced with a large
membership, strong worship attendance, a commitment to excellence in sacred
music offered by volunteer and professional musicians, and world-class
instruments. The position is structured to have a time commitment of an
average of 10 hours per week for 30 weeks. Participation in services on
Christmas Eve, Maundy Thursday, and Easter is required.

Notification:
Finalists will be asked to meet with representatives from the board of
trustees of the Peter B. Knock Memorial Music Fund, the church’s Director
of Music and Organist, and one or both of the church’s Co-Pastors. It is
hoped that the Intern will be named by September 30, 2016.
