  • All reservations must be placed 48 hours in advance.
  • Practice rooms in SDQ and Miller Hall are now open. They are available only to ISM music students.
  • Rooms must be reserved in advance. No walk-ins, no exceptions.
  • Each ISM student may reserve practice time in one-, two-, three-, or four-hour blocks.
  • A maximum of two practice sessions may be booked per student per day. There must be a minimum of one-hour of flush time between practice sessions.
  • You must arrive and leave the practice room at the assigned times—no exceptions.
  • Practice rooms must remain vacant for at least one hour between reservations to allow for proper air turnover.
  • Under no circumstances are any doors to be propped open.
  • If you open the window in a practice room, close it before exiting.
  • No furniture, instruments, or equipment may be moved in or out of any room.
  • Only one individual is allowed in each room at a time.
  • You may remove your mask only after you are inside and alone in a practice room.
  • Do not eat in the practice room. Only water is permitted.
  • Please follow physical-distancing, mask-wearing, and safety guidelines when leaving the practice room to use a restroom or water-bottle refilling station.
  • Failure to follow health and safety guidelines puts you and others at risk. Students who repeatedly fail to comply with these guidelines will have their practice-room privileges revoked.
  • Cleaning instructions and supplies are provided in each room.
  • Do not unplug the damp-chasers set up to protect the pianos.
  • Student lockers are not available for use.
  • Organ practice rooms, chapel organs, and the Organ Studio will be assigned to individual students by the Organ Department assistant. Assigned hours must be strictly observed.
