St. Alphonsus in Auburn, NY is seeking a part-time Director of Music who will direct their talents and creativity to this position and who will be responsible for providing organ and vocals for two weekend masses (4 PM on Saturdays and 10 AM on Sundays) as well as for Holy Days, Holy Week, and other special Parish events and celebrations. The full, active, and conscious participation of the faithful in our liturgies is the key mission of this position.

Other responsibilities include, establishing and leading a choir, selecting the music/hymns for our liturgies, providing leadership for volunteer music ministers, etc.

This position also entails being available to provide music ministry to couples at their weddings ($225/wedding, 5-10/year), and families for a funeral ($150/funeral, at least 25/year). Preferred are strong vocal skills, proficiency in playing organ and piano, knowledge of Roman Catholic liturgy, and a Bachelors in Music. Salary is $20,000/year plus weddings and funerals.
