Alto section leader (Hartford, CT)

Hello all! St.Patrick-St.Anthony (Catholic) Church in Hartford needs an alto section leader for its SATB mixed choir. Rehearsals are Wed 7-9, sometimes 9:30pm, and the service call time is always 9:15am-11am. Pay is $70/appearance. There are many extra singing opportunities throughout the liturgical year, including some call times during the summer season (mid-June through August). Additionally, there is a 2nd Treble Clef choir that may have openings in the future; this would add to your paid appearances. Although the music is classical-based, it is eclectic and the section leader must adapt! Your requirements: -Singing comfortably in the lower alto range a must; please do not apply if this is a stretch for you! -Especially during quartet/octet appearances and early music selections, ability to sing mostly straight tone. OK to use vibrato where appropriate -We move through music very quickly; strong sightreading a must! -While we will not discourage fully capable students, many of them go home during breaks and we need coverage during these times if possible. -As the director is the primary organist, conducts 3 choirs at the church, and also conducts choirs outside of the church, your patience in awaiting a reply is appreciated!
