The performing and visual arts are central to the life of the parish, supported by both clergy and parishioners. Darien, a coastal town in Fairfield County, is served by the Metro-North New Haven Line, and is less than an hour from NYC’s Grand Central Terminal or forty-five minutes from New Haven’s Union Station.

The Music Program includes the Parish Choir (a semi-professional ensemble that sings mid-September through Pentecost, at monthly Evensong, and/or other occasions). Younger Choristers are divided into three additional choirs, affiliated with the Royal School of Church Music in America; a Voice for Life class additionally occurs each week. Repertoire is rooted in the Anglican tradition, incorporating various other styles and traditions.

Job Description Summary

Rehearsals are scheduled Thursdays, 4:30 PM – 9 PM, and Sundays at 9AM. This incorporates assisting with the RCMA Voice for Life class. The position offers the opportunity to conduct ensembles and to work directly with the Choristers, learning the ins and outs of working with young singers in a large parish setting.
