The Music Department at Hunter College seeks a full-time professor at the rank of Assistant Professor and Director of Chamber Music. Duties include: Performs teaching, research and guidance duties in area(s) of expertise. Shares responsibility for committee and department assignments including administrative, supervisory, and other functions.
This candidate will be responsible for creating a vigorous and lively chamber music program that will prepare students for a professional career in performance to life-long enjoyment. The candidate will also lead the department in the area of guitar/harp/percussion and be able to teach and recruit a full studio in one of those instruments.

The Music Department includes fifteen full-time faculty in the areas of performance, music theory, ethnomusicology, musicology and composition. Our goal is to serve the entire spectrum of participation, from the pre-professional to the life-long amateur. We have approximately 240 music majors over several undergraduate and graduate degrees up the Master of Arts in music. We are situated on 68th Street and Lexington Avenue in the thriving upper east side of Manhattan.
