Associate Music Director (full-time) (Tulsa, OK)
Saint John’s Episcopal Church seeks a full-time Associate Music Director to join the staff of a growing music program and parish community. The person in this position will hold a key leadership role in the growth of our RSCM choristers program. Other responsibilities include accompanying the adult choirs (also sharing in conducting) and playing continuo for performances of Bach cantatas and Handel’s Messiah with period instruments. The successful candidate will be an exemplary organist who has experience with teaching music to children, as well as working with professional and volunteer adult singers. In 2018 the parish commissioned two new organs: a 3-manual, 31-stop Schoenstein chancel organ, and a 3-stop continuo organ by Bennett & Giuttari. There is also a 2-manual French-style harpsichord by Knight Vernon and a 2-manual balcony organ by Dan Garland.
Tulsa is a growing city with a vibrant downtown arts district. Residents enjoy a low cost of living and easy local commutes.
Salary range is $50,000 to $60,000 depending on experience. A full benefits package will be offered (health insurance, retirement, continuing education, vacation, moving expense allowance).
