Auburn UMC, a vibrant 4500 member congregation in Auburn, AL seeks a full time organist/Music Associate to provide exceptional organ and piano support for our traditional worship services and support our many choirs with keyboard accompaniment within an enthusiastic, positive environment to enhance Auburn UMC’s Music Ministry while following the church’s mission statement of “Offering Christ, Nurturing Others, and Serving All for the transformation of the World.”  The Music Ministry has a long and vibrant history for worship and community outreach through excellence in musical offerings.  

The person we seek must possess a joyful spirit, a passion for dynamic traditional worship, and a heart for collaborative teamwork to work effectively with our other music staff with a common vision as well as the many choir members and lay leaders with whom he/she will serve.  The position requires strong relation skills, a positive attitude, and a heart of service.

Auburn UMC is blessed to have phenomenal instruments to assist in rehearsal and lead in worship.  The 4-manual Holtkamp organ in the sanctuary was installed in 1994 and expanded in 2009 and 2013 with a new console, expanded memory capability, and extensive digital tonal resource expansion including an antiphonal division and celestial division which plays from the narthex.  The chapel features an original historic and restored Pilcher and Sons tracker instrument.  We are also blessed to have an excellent Baldwin grand piano in the chapel, and relatively new Kawaii and Yamaha grand pianos in the two rehearsal suites and the sanctuary.

 The full-time salary is commensurate with experience.
