Reports to: Senior Minister
FLSA Status: Exempt
Principals and Primary Responsibilities: First Community Church in Columbus, Ohio, is seeking a full time Director of Music to continue a tradition of musical excellence within the spiritual life of the congregation. The Director of Music shall actively oversee and shepherd the growth of the various musical groups involving multi-generational musicians. The Director shall also regularly collaborate with members of the clergy and staff to develop innovative ways to enhance the worship experience through music.
The Director shall provide and/or coordinate direction for all adult choirs and supporting instrumentalists for all services, rehearsals and other musical offerings. The Director will supervise all paid music staff including the Worship and Arts Coordinator, organists, and choral section leaders.
Job Type: Full-time, 40 hours a week

Qualified candidate must be able to successfully pass a background check.
Physical Requirements: ADA category of Light Work-Ability to lift and manage office supplies/packages regularly up to 20 lbs. Includes bending, lifting, standing and sitting on the floor.
Visual Acuity Requirements: Worker required to have close visual acuity to perform activities of reading, inspecting, color coding, viewing computer screens, small parts, fabrication parts at distances close to the eyes.
