St. Andrew’s Parish seeks to hire a choral conductor/organist as part-time Director of Music QUALIFICATIONS ~ Applicants are expected to be
-
An accomplished organist and proficient pianist
-
Trained and experienced in teaching and conducting sacred choral music
-
Knowledgeable about sacred music repertoire, preferably within the Anglican tradition,
including The Book of Common Prayer and the Episcopal Church's authorized hymnals
-
Passionate about ways to sustain, enhance, and lead liturgical worship through music
DUTIES ~ Reporting to the full-time Priest-in-Charge, the Music Director is expected to
-
Accompany the hymns and music at the 10:30 Sunday Holy Eucharist

Perform an organ prelude and postlude at the same service
-
Select repertoire for, rehearse and conduct the St Andrew's Choir, except in summer
-
Meet with the Priest-in-Charge to help select hymns, service music and anthems
-
Play and/or conduct on the Principal Feasts and Holy Days, as needed
-
Explore and create ways for the Choir to grow and prepare for the future
-
Explore and create ways for children and youth to musically contribute
-
Provide music at weddings and funerals (fee to be paid by the couple or family)
-
Provide music for special services (e.g., Evensong, New Year's Eve), as mutually agreed

Annual salary: $25,000 — $28,000, commensurate with experience

Year-round position

14 hours per week, including worship, practice, rehearsal(s) and planning

Four paid Sundays off per year (non-accruing)

Access to the church organ and piano for private lessons
