Director of Music (Worcester, MA)

All Saints Episcopal Church is seeking a full time Organist and Director of Music who:

*has an understanding of, enthusiasm for, and experience with intergenerational choirs, excelling in music of the Episcopal Church, English choral tradition, diverse cultural and contemporary music;

*teaches music theory, vocal technique,  chooses service music, hymns and anthems for all services, to be approved by the Rector/ P.I.C.;

* has a passion for working with a diverse group of singers, and energy to devote to recruitment and community outreach, s/he will have a mastery of organ playing and choral directing;

*experience in recruiting and developing youth for a separate choir and incorporating them into the adult choir for Sundays and special services;

*promotes our music program in the community, occasionally collaborates with other choirs, designs and plans off-site concerts and initiates trips for the choir(s) locally and perhaps abroad;

*is comfortable working with a music committee to help achieve goals as appropriate;

*will participate in designing and leading the week long summer youth choir camp;

*will assist in writing grants to fund music- related programs;

*will oversee the Afternoon Tunes program. (afterschool mentoring lessons)
