Director of Music (Worcester, MA)

First Unitarian Church is seeking a Director of Music to provide dynamic leadership for the music ministries of our church. The Director will conduct our outstanding adult choir of 25 voices which sings during 3 Sunday services a month between September and June. They will also play piano and/or organ to provide service music and accompany hymns, and work closely with our Assistant Director of Music and volunteer musicians. They will regularly rehearse a children's choir to perform at several services throughout the year, and creatively find ways to integrate music into the larger life of the church. The Director will maintain, play and recruit players for our suite of outstanding instruments.

Our Director will be an outstanding choir director, a skilled musician, and an emotionally mature leader who is ready to help lead the worship life of our congregation. They will join a strong staff team and a thriving, historic Unitarian Universalist church with a top-notch music program. This is a 30 hour/week position. The salary range is $44,000 to $49,000, commensurate with experience.
