Director/Minister of Music (Pleasantville, NY)

As our church returns to in-person worship, we are excited about music being an essential part of our worship and gathering experience.  We are looking for a Director/Minister of Music with a vision for the ways music can enhance our ministry.

Candidate should have experience managing a music program of significant scope; and have excellent organ, piano, choral directing and instrumental conducting skills.  The applicant should be open to incorporating various styles of sacred music in worship.  A degree in music is preferred, as well as previous experience with Lutheran or other liturgical traditions. 

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

• Selecting and preparing music for worship services throughout the Church year.
• Expanding music program to increase participation and incorporate contemporary music styles in the church setting.
• Leading choral and instrumental groups that may include members of all ages.
• Working closely with the Pastor, Worship, Music & Arts Committee, Director of Handbells, Youth Minister, and Office Administrator.

We anticipate two services September through June and one adult choir rehearsal per week. There is one service during July and August.

We offer a competitive salary / benefits / vacation package and right of first refusal for weddings, funerals and other paid events.  Salary commensurate with experience.
