Job Description:

Trinity Episcopal Church in Hartford, CT is seeking a 3/4 time Interim Director of Music Ministries and Organist to lead its lively and excellent music program. Music is integral to the life and ministry of Trinity and is a core strength. We seek a DOMM who is comfortable with the music of our Episcopalian/Anglican tradition as well as other traditions which enrich sacred music.

Candidates should be skilled in choral conducting and in organ and piano performance. Responsibilities include conducting a well-trained adult choir as well as the choristers of The Choir School of Hartford, a separate 501(c)(3). This RSCM-America choir is one of our strengths, and we seek an individual with a passion for working with young musicians. Experience with the Voice for Life curriculum is an asset. The DOMM will work with the Rector and other worship leaders to select suitable music for all liturgical services.

The position is available September 1, 2020 and continues until September 1, 2021. The Interim has the option of applying for the permanent position at the end of the Church year in June 2021. It is interim due to choirs not being able to participate in the audition process at this time. Minimum requirements are a Bachelor’s degree and 2-5 years experience. The salary is commensurate with education and experience; in addition, benefits are provided.
