Job Description: 

St. Andrew Evangelical Lutheran Church of Bristol, CT, is seeking a Minister of Music/Organist to minister to the assembly through a diverse music program that strengthens Christian faith. The ideal candidate is a skilled organist/pianist and experienced choral director with either experience in or willingness to learn to direct a bell choir. Knowledge of or a willingness to learn the Lutheran liturgy and hymnody is desired, as is a candidate who is comfortable with a variety of worship styles and musical expressions.

Primary duties include working collaboratively with the Pastor and Worship committee to plan worship services; providing music for the regular 9:30AM Sunday worship service as well as for seasonal services, including mid-week Lenten services, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, Christmas Eve and Christmas Day; directing the adult voice choir and the handbell choir, rehearsing with them weekly from September through Pentecost; selecting music appropriate to the available talent, the liturgical season, and the lectionary texts; encouraging a spiritual and a social atmosphere, while maintaining high expectations for music.

Instruments include: two-manual Allen organ, Yamaha grand piano, handbells and choir chimes.

Salary Range $20,000 – $25,000. Salary is negotiable, based on education, skills and experience.
