Music Director (Newton, MA)

The Union Church in Waban seeks a Director of Music for 15-20 hours a week, September through June.  The Director of Music directs an adult choir, a small bell choir and occasional youth choral and instrumental participation in worship for one weekly 10am Sunday worship service and 5-8 special worship services throughout the year (e.g., Christmas Eve, Ash Wednesday and Maundy Thursday).  Successful candidates will be proficient on organ and piano, experienced directing a choir and eager to explore new opportunities working with a team to sustain and enhance the worship life of our congregation.  Experience with an eclectic range of sacred music (traditional and classical as well as some folk, spiritual, and praise) is desirable.
