Job Description: 

Part-time Music Director/Organist to collaborate with Pastor for all parish liturgical celebrations including weddings and funerals.

THe Music Director/Organist will play either the organ or piano at 2 liturgies each Sunday, 2 liturgies on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day, and one liturgy on Holy Thursday, Good Friday and the Easter Vigil. Additional liturgies may be required as determined by the Pastor.

Candidate must have exceptional organ and piano skills. Able to select and perform adequate organ preludes and postludes, improvisation of music to accompany the liturgical action, as needed..

Candidate must have skills as an effective choral conductor and will conduct weekly choral rehearsals from September through May. Recruitment and training of new choir members for both a children’s choir and the adult choir, as well as Cantors will be a key component of the position.

Vocal training or talent and comfort with polyphonic singing would be a definite plus, but is not a requirement.
