Organist and Music Director
Summer season, weekends – Upstate New York

Rensselaerville Presbyterian Church
1454 Co. Rt. 351 at Methodist Hill Rd.
Rensselaerville, NY, 12147

The Rensselaerville Presbyterian Church is looking for  a Church Organist and Music Director for the coming summer season, beginning Sunday June 27, through Labor Day Weekend, Sunday, Sept. 5.

The job involves playing the organ (or piano) for the services, including Preludes and Postludes, three Hymns, the Doxology, the Gloria Patri, an Offertory and other incidental music, as needed.

The summer services usually include soloists or small groups of performers from the area, both ones we know and others we have yet to meet.  The Music Director’s job includes planning and coordinating this program with the support of members of the Church who know the area musicians.

There is also a local choir, The Village Voices, conducted by the previous Organist and Music Director who is retiring, that usually performs a few times during the season.  Working occasionally with the choir could also be part of the scope of this position. This position would be paid separately, financed independently by the choir.

Salary:

Organist duties: $150.00 per Sunday   (Season is 11 Sundays in all)
Music Director duties: $600.00 for the season

In addition, Soloists receive $75.00 per Service.

The position also includes weekend housing with a member or friend of the Church.
