The Basilica of the Immaculate Conception in Waterbury, CT seeks an organist for parish liturgical celebrations including, but not limited to, weekend Masses (Saturday 4:15, Sunday 8 & 10am), choir rehearsals (TBD with organist availability-generally Tuesday or Wednesday night), holy days of obligation, weddings, and funerals. The organist will also be responsible, in collaboration with the music director, pastor and colleagues in the music ministry, for maintaining a rich, inspiring program of sacred music in accordance with the liturgical tradition of the Roman Catholic Church.

 

The Basilica’s Organ is an Austin Co Opus 1522 (1928) with 3 Manuals, 4 divisions, 31 Stops, 35 Registers, Manual Compass in 61 notes, Pedal Compass with 32 notes.

 

Candidates should hold a Bachelors Degree in Music (preferably in organ), an advanced degree would be desirable.
