Job Description:
We are looking for a summer organist/choirmaster to lead the music and boys choir of this residential summer camp in the Catskill Mountains.    Our values based camp program includes daily chapel and Mass and Evensong on Sunday.  All liturgy is in the Episcopal tradition and familiarity with the Book of Common Prayer and related music preferred.  The Camp choir has a strong choral tradition,  having published multiple LP’s and performed at Lincoln Center with the Canterbury Choral Society. Approximately 100 boys attend camp for the season.

Applicants will have skills in organ playing in a liturgical setting, and  directing a children’s choir.   Applicants should be prepared to take music outside the liturgy of St. Jospeh’s Chapel and use it to enliven camp life.  The organist/choirmaster is also expected  to partake in the fullness of camp life, including assisting other counselors in camp activities.  You will be part of a 112 year old camp tradition which includes a long line of distinguished organists who have played on our recently restored 1877 Hilborne Roosevelt organ.  Come be a part of this unique and special camp tradition.  The summer season lasts six weeks from late June to early August.  Rustic lodging and meals provided.
