Part Time 8-10 hours a week 

Approximate Hours 8:30-11:00 AM Sunday mornings plus individual rehearsal and music selection time.

 

Cross of Christ Lutheran Church, a small but energetic congregation, in Waterbury, CT seeks a Director of Music. The primary job of this position is helping to lead and accompany music for Sunday morning worship. Strong vocal skills are helpful but not required. 

• Coordinate, lead, and develop the overall music ministry of the church. Assist the Pastor with selecting and coordinating service music.
• Provide piano (or organ) accompaniment for Sunday worship services (hymns, preludes, postludes, choir anthem) and at other special services in the Christian liturgical year. Other accompanying instruments such as guitar and ukulele are also welcome.
• Direct church choir and conduct rehearsals Sunday mornings before church from September-June. Extra rehearsals can be scheduled at the discretion of the Director of Music if needed.
• Create hymn recordings for planned absences or assist with finding a substitute.
