<p><span><span>Congregation Mishkan Israel in Hamden, Ct is looking for a fun, dynamic person with wonderful keyboard skills to play for <strong>High Holy Days</strong> and <em>beyond</em>. <em>Excellent </em>Sight Reading and accompanying skills are </span></span><span><span><span><em>essential</em></span></span></span><span><span>. </span></span><span><span>During the High Holy Days, t</span></span><span><span>he </span></span><span><span>candidate </span></span><span><span>would be accompanying the Cantor and Professional Quartet on any and all music in the service, which is substantial. </span></span></p> <p><span>We need someone who is personable and flexible, used to accompaning singers, and is a a team player with other musicians and ensembles that are involved in services as well. The candidate should be able to seamlessly weave from one piece into the other and keep the musical flow of the service going. The styles of music range from folk to classical, so excellent <em>technical and improvisational </em>skills are essential.</span></p> <p>The High Holy Days dates are the following: (there are 4 evening rehearsals over 2 weeks before Rosh Hashanah)</p> <p>Sunday Evening September 25th: Rosh Hashanah Evening Service (s)</p> <p>Tuesday Morning September 26th: Rosh Hashanah Morning Service </p> <p>Wednesday Morning September 27th: Day two Rosh Hashanah Morning Service</p> <p>Tuesday Evening October 4th: Yom Kippur Evening Service</p> <p>Wednesday ALL DAY October 5th: Yom Kippur Day Services (over by 6:15 approx.)</p> <p><span>After High Holy Days, all typical weekly Services are on Friday nights from 6-7 PM, and once a month from 7-8 PM. You would need to arrive at 5:00 PM for a rehearsal before the service. I</span><span> would also like to revive the Adult Choir in the fall that collapsed du</span><span>ring</span><span> to the pandemic.
