Salary Range (optional): $68,000 - $95,000
Job Description:
The Church of the Holy Spirit (CHS), an Episcopal faith community located in
Lake Forest, IL, is seeking a full-time organist/choirmaster. CHS rejoices in
the Episcopal liturgy and music, and is considered a cardinal parish in the
Diocese of Chicago.  Our music is in the Anglican sacred art tradition, and
is central to the way we, as individual parishioners, experience communal
worship.

Rite II Sunday Eucharist is led by the Adult and Children’s Choirs, and a
Bell Choir that rings monthly. Choral Evensongs and special music are offered
throughout the year, including Sung Compline during the season of Epiphany.
The Senior choir includes volunteer singers, four paid section leaders and
additional singers for Evensong and other events. The Senior Choir has served
as choir in residence at Wells, Ely, Durham, Salisbury and Lincoln Cathedrals
in England.  The Children’s Choir training is based on the Royal School of
Church Music.

The church’s main organ is a fine 3-manual, 50-rank instrument by Harrison
& Harrison, Ltd., of Durham, England. The church also has a mechanical action
3-rank chamber organ by Harrison & Harrison and a Yamaha C7 grand piano.
The ideal candidate is someone who will sustain our vibrant music program and
be a strategic partner as we develop and expand our music ministry, including
an expanded children’s music ministry that we hope to accomplish with the
addition of a third musician.
