Job Description:
The Plainville United Methodist Church is seeking a part time Organist /
Choir Director.
Responsibilities include:
1.      To play for the 10:00 AM service and for special seasonal services
including Ash Wednesday, Thanksgiving Eve, Christmas Eve, Maundy Thursday,
Good Friday, and Easter Service (when applicable).
2.      To lead choir rehearsals.
3.      Work with pastor in planning hymns for Sunday worship, to reflect sermon
theme or scripture readings and worship style.
4.      Select prelude, offertory and postlude music for worship services; select
additional music for quiet reflection during communion services.

Previous Choir Directors have held choir practice immediately following the
10:00 a.m. service.

The Plainville United Methodist Church is located at 56 Redstone Hill in
Plainville. We have a weekly attendance of about 70 people. The congregation
loves to sing (as do most Methodists).
