Yale Organ Academy

Learn from the nation’s top organists on the Yale campus.

Yale Organ Academy

The biennial Yale Organ Academy is a distinguished educational program designed for advanced undergraduate organ students. Held for a week on the Yale University campus in New Haven, CT, this unique opportunity allows participants to engage with some of the nation’s top organ artists and teachers. Students receive daily lessons, attend workshops focused on organ literature and church music, and study renowned organs at Yale and in the surrounding New Haven area. The program also includes evening performances by both faculty and students, creating a dynamic and immersive environment for learning.

Any student who is enrolled as a full-time undergraduate or who has just graduated with the baccalaureate degree in the year of the academy is eligible to apply. Applicants must be 18 years old by the start of the academy term and be enrolled in organ study, but they do not need to be a music major. Students apply online and submit references and recordings of their playing which will be reviewed by the Yale organ faculty. All decisions will be final.
