Job description: Holy Cross Lutheran Church in Trumbull, Connecticut, has an opening for a person to serve as Music Director beginning September 1, 2025. The position is a part-time position requiring approximately 15 hours per week. Responsibilities: •One Sunday morning service per week. An additional weekend service may be added in the future. •Special services – approximately 15-20 per year (e.g., Advent, Lent, holidays). •Provide music for weddings and funerals held within the church (if available; compensated separately). •Develop and lead church’s choral program including an Adult Choir and other groups as interest and demand occur. Lead rehearsals as necessary. •Cooperate with the Pastor in general planning and leadership of the music program. •Manage the church’s music library. Qualifications: •Organist experience with multi-keyboard organ in a church setting •Experience in leading choirs •Willingness to play piano •Familiarity with Lutheran liturgical practices desired •Interest in helping the congregation grow its music program. We are a suburban congregation of approximately 265 baptized members and 225 communicant members. Our organ is a 3-manual Johannus Sweelinck 30 digital organ installed in 2006. In 2009 we added a Steinway designed Boston Grand Piano.
