Job description: Interim Choirmaster and Organist (Immediate Opening) Episcopal Church of St. Mark the Evangelist - https://www.saintmarksftl.com Fort Lauderdale, Florida St. Mark’s seeks an interim Choirmaster and Organist to serve while the parish undertakes it’s search to fill the position permanently. Applicants for the interim position are encouraged to apply to fill the position permanently. The position and choir serve at our 10:30 Sunday service. The music program at St. Mark’s is deeply rooted in the Anglican Tradition, including the sung Eucharist. The liturgy and service music can be found in the Episcopal Book of Common Prayer (1979), Rite II, which is available on line. Attendance at our Sunday 10:30 service ranges from 120-140. Our three services typically welcome 180-200 people. Compensation for the interim choirmaster is $550 per week Service hours: - Sunday mass, 10:30 AM with a 9:30 practice call - Wednesday practice from 6:30 until 8:00 PM - Additional compensation for seasonal events such as Holy Week and Christmas. - Events such as weddings and funerals are compensated Program details - Voices: 18-24 - Staff Singers, including soloists: 6-8 each week - Sunday services: 3 Hymns, 1 or 2 anthems, some soloists work - Library - more than 3000 works ranging from early Church classical to more contemporary ecumenical pieces.
