The Yale Institute of Sacred Music invites Yale students, faculty, staff, and members of the greater New Haven community to audition for its choral ensembles for the 2026–27 academic year.

Whether you are an experienced choral singer or simply looking for an inspiring musical community, ISM offers a range of opportunities to perform exceptional repertoire, collaborate with distinguished conductors, and become part of a vibrant tradition of sacred music. With numerous ensembles—including internationally recognized chamber choirs, chapel choirs, and student-led ensembles—there are opportunities for singers with a variety of musical interests and experience.

Auditions begin in late August. Yale Schola Cantorum has a separate audition process, while a single audition provides consideration for Yale Camerata, Yale Recital Chorus, Yale Repertory Chorus, Battell Chapel Choir, and Marquand Chapel Choir. Rehearsals and performances take place throughout the academic year, with ensembles performing music that spans centuries—from Renaissance masterworks to newly commissioned compositions—in concerts, worship services, and collaborative performances both on campus and beyond.
