Job Description:
The duties of the Associate Organist include:
~       Playing the 8AM Sunday service when assigned (usually every other week),
and assisting at the organ with service music, anthems, and hymns during the
10AM Sunday service.
~       Accompanying choirs (with conducting opportunities), at services and
rehearsals.  The Music Program is affiliated with the Royal School of Church
music and includes a parish choir of paid and volunteer adults; a senior
girls choir, a mixed junior choir, and a novice choir.  Rehearsals are
scheduled for Thursdays, 5PM - 6:30PM and 7PM – 9:15 PM, and    Sundays at
9:15 AM.
~       Assisting with the RSCMA Voice for Life program.  Separate sessions meet
Thursdays, 6:30PM – 7PM.
~       Playing and/or conducting at one Saturday Evensong service during the
months of September, November, February, March, April, and June; and for
other special services, (i.e., Ash Wednesday, Holy Week and Easter services,
Advent Lessons and Carols, Christmas Eve, etc.).
~       Meeting with the Director of Music on a weekly basis.
~       Playing for Funerals or Weddings, as assigned, for additional compensation.
Weddings, minimum $300; Funerals, minimum $250.
~       Participating in SongFest, the annual springtime Friends of Music
fundraiser event.

Compensation includes a generous stipend (negotiable), a one-bedroom
apartment available for weekend or daily use during the duration of the
position, and all utilities. The church campus is a two minute drive from
I-95 and a short walk or drive from one of two stations on the Metro-North
New Haven line (approx. 50 minutes from either New Haven’s Union Station or
Grand Central Terminal and approx. 40 minutes from the 125th Street Station).
