Branford Chorale Seeks Director (Branford, CT) The Branford Chorale, established almost 50 years ago, seeks an experienced music director to inspire, teach, and lead its members. We are looking for a Choral Director with a passion for choral singing and an infectious enthusiasm, as well as the excitement and vision to inspire the Chorale. We sing music from many genres, including pop, folk, jazz, rock, Broadway, classical, and holiday.

As a non-auditioned group, we are looking for someone with an excellent sense of humor and the ability to maintain an atmosphere of fun in rehearsals and performances.

Our choir is composed of people of all musical levels who want to enjoy themselves, which, in our opinion, lends itself to excellent music-making.

Our group strives to make music accessible, both for the enjoyment of the greater community, as well as that of the membership.

Additionally, we strive to provide music education opportunities for those interested in realizing their musical potential.

The Branford Chorale’s concerts, featuring singers along with various instrumentalists and soloists, are performed in December and mid-May, with rehearsals beginning in late August and mid-January. Occasionally, we do a cabaret or fundraising concert.

Compensation and Benefits:

• This is a contracted, part-time position.
• Rehearsals are two hours each week (Monday, 7:00-9:00 pm), and compensation is $60 per hour.
• We usually hold one two-hour sectional rehearsal per month. Sectional and added rehearsals are paid in addition to the semester compensation.
• The dress rehearsal and concert are also paid.
• Please have experience working with an adult choir, as well as a strong background in music, vocal techniques, directing, and conducting. We look forward to reading your submission.
