Organist/Pianist | United Methodist Church of Monroe, CT

Job Description:

1. Assist choir director in guiding the church music program, including   any special worship services or programs.
2. Meet with the pastor, the choir director and Worship Committee for planning on an as-needed basis.
3. Provide service music for the weekly worship service including prelude, offertory and postlude.
4. Provide service music during special worship services, including  Christmas Eve, Christmas Day {if it falls on a Sunday), Ash Wednesday, Holy Thursday, Good Friday, Special Service (if any), and  Annual Church/Charge Conference, (if needed).
5. Accompany congregational hymn singing during  Sunday worship service.
6. Accompany weekly choir rehearsals (September - June).
7. Accompany choir anthems during Sunday worship service {September - June) and special music (July & August) .When the music director is not present the organist/pianist will supervise/conduct the special music for the Sunday service.
8. Accompany children’s choir during rehearsals and performances.
9. Provide music service to weddings and funerals at the request of the family if available.  Compensation to be at the rate stipulated in the Wedding & Funeral Guidelines.

Annual Salary: Commensurate with level of experience

Paid Time Off: 3 weeks annually to be used between January 1 and December 31, with approval of SSPRC and the Pastor
