The English Musical Splendor concert tour featuring the Yale Philharmonia, Yale Schola Cantorum, and the Bach Choir, London has been cancelled due to concerns related to COVID-19.

This cancellation includes performances scheduled for March 8–14 in New Haven, Boston, New York City, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C.

In celebration of the Yale School of Music’s 125th anniversary, the Yale Philharmonia (YSM’s orchestra) joins the Yale Schola Cantorum (the student chamber choir sponsored by Yale Institute of Sacred Music) and guest ensemble The Bach Choir, London, to perform a concert entitled English Musical Splendor in five East Coast cities this coming March. David Hill, Principal Conductor of both Yale Schola Cantorum and The Bach Choir, will conduct a program that includes William Walton’s

The Bach Choir, Londonarresting oratorio Belshazzar’s Feast, along with works of Arnold Bax, Charles Villiers Stanford, and Ralph Vaughan Williams. Soloists are baritone David Pershall (Yale School of Music ’11) and faculty artist Robert Blocker.
