Salem Lutheran Church (ELCA) in Bridgeport, CT ( on the Fairfield line only 30 minutes from New Haven and an hour from NYC) seeks a creative, enthusiastic, energetic and forward-looking Organist/Choir Director with exemplary skills in all musical styles.  The 10-12 hours/week position includes accompanying 1 traditional Sunday service at 9:30 and leading a weeknight choir rehearsal (about 8 singers).  We are blessed with a well-maintained 22-rank Austin organ, a multi-purpose Korg synthesizer, multiple pianos, hand chimes, a talented staff, and a congregation with a strong tradition of excellent music.  The Organist/Choir Director position could be combined with 1-2 others:   Director of Salem’s Afterschool Arts program (minimum 1 day/week), and Director of Salem’s Summer Music and Arts Camp (two weeks).  Combined, the 3 positions would total 20 hours/week.  Salary commensurate with responsibilities, experience, and expertise.  Starting date negotiable.
