Director of Music (Morristown, NJ)

St. Peter’s is seeking a full-time skilled, experienced, enthusiastic, and flexible musician to serve as Director of Music. The Director of Music under the supervision of the Rector, is the person who is responsible for all music for liturgy, education and entertainment offered in and by St. Peter’s Church. The incumbent should work to ensure that the music program is of the highest quality in providing music for the worship service. The incumbent is to stimulate, strengthen and broaden the music program of the parish, and to coordinate and administer all music-related programs for the church and envision and develop a parish-wide music program that balances choral and congregational involvement, education and spiritual growth. This is a full-time position with flexible hours based on seasonal and daily necessity. Though some time is spent in private practice and planning, most work involves direct contact with parishioners, staff and visitors; it is important that all interactions be courteous, gracious and professional, fulfilling the Baptismal Covenant to “respect the dignity of every human being.”
