Job Description:
The organist and Director of Music will be expected to sustain and develop the legacy of musical excellence in the English choral tradition established by Neil Cockburn and his predecessors.
The position is full time. General duties include, but are not limited to, the following:
- To take responsibility for all aspects of musical life within the Cathedral;
- To be responsible for the provision of choral and organ music at all services and events in the Cathedral;
- To lead weekly rehearsals of the choir (nine paid section leads and volunteer members);
- To help realize the potential of the Cathedral’s presence on digital media; and
- As organist, to be responsible for the use, care and maintenance of the Casavant organ, chamber organ, and piano.
