Interim Director of Music (Trumbull, CT)

The Parish of Saint Catherine of Siena in Trumbull, CT is seeking a part-time Music Director to lead the parish music program from March 2, 2022 to June 30, 2022, or until a permanent music director is appointed.

The music director will facilitate an important liturgical function by serving the parish as principal musician, organist, and choir director, according to the highest professional standards established by the profession.

Candidates must have a high degree of proficiency in the use of the organ as attested to by formal credentials and a working knowledge of other instruments.

A Master’s degree in music is preferred; a Bachelor’s degree in music is required. Additionally, applicants must have a knowledge and appreciation of the Catholic Church’s liturgical tradition, as well as arabam kaç para current liturgical practices.

Candidates must be self-motivated, adaptable to changes in routine, have excellent written and oral communication skills, have knowledge using computer programs such as Word or Publisher, and be able to direct a choir.

In addition to the regular liturgical schedule, the music director will coordinate additional services for holy days, sacramental celebrations, weddings, funerals, rehearsals. Availability for all of Holy Week and Easter Sunday is required.

Salary will be commensurate with education, experience, and level of expertise.
