Part time organist/pianist (Vernon, CT)

Talcottville Congregational Church in Vernon, CT, an Evangelical Free Church, is looking for a part-time organist/pianist beginning in January 2022.

TCC is an historic church, founded in 1866, with a beautiful building and a 1913 Steere organ. But our deepest identity is found in the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We seek to be rooted in God’s Word, drawing upon our heritage and engaging new generations.

At minimum, we are looking for a proficient organist/pianist to accompany congregational singing on Sundays during our 10:30am worship service. We sing primarily traditional hymns, while also including some newer songs. We have a choir that sings occasionally, but congregational singing is primary. There would also be occasional opportunities to play for special services (e.g. Christmas Eve, Maundy Thursday, Good Friday, weddings, funerals, etc.). We can offer some flexibility in scheduling, if that is a concern.

Ideally, we would love to find a candidate who embraces the church’s mission, who is excited to participate in the church community, and who will seek to advance the church’s mission and build up the church community through music in a variety of ways over time.
