Soprano and Alto Staff Singers/Section Leaders (New Canaan)

Seeking Soprano and Mezzo-Soprano (alto) staff singers for Choir of professional singers (and a few volunteers) at a large and active Church: St. Aloysius, New Canaan, CT. Best for those with car transportation (the Church is located though across the street from the New Canaan Metro North Station). Seeking lyric, full voices that can sing straight tone as needed with excellent intonation and sight-reading skills; capable of singing solo repertoire as well as ensemble singing; wide range of repertoire includes classical anthems to Renaissance motets and contemporary works. Thursday rehearsals 7:30-9:30, Sunday Morning Mass (1 hour) with 30 min. warm-up prior; occasional additional Masses and Services; Prayer services, Confirmations, First Communions and Concerts with Chamber Orchestra; as well as occasional opportunities to sing for Weddings, Funerals and Memorial Masses. Regular call fee is $115, Concerts, Midnight Mass, Easter Vigil, etc. are $230. Typically there are 10-11 calls during Holy Week and 7-9 calls on Christmas Eve/Christmas Day.
