On September 7, the U.K. based performance trio, Feral Theatre, performed their new piece, “Last Dance” to a sold-out crowd in Miller Hall. The work, which raised questions about what happens when we face challenges such as irreversible change and the aftermath of loss, was sponsored by ISM’s new Religion, Ecology and Expressive Culture Initiative.

The work centered on a sand-filled  sculpture, which performers Emily Laurens, Rachel Porter and Persephone Pearl interacted with as its form changed. Visually inspired by Louise Bourgeois’ suspended works, the piece is a study of loss, cycles, and tipping points. The performance was followed by a conversation between the artists and Yale faculty.
