Sing Virtually with Yale Camerata this Spring!

January 6, 2021

Interested? Write to choral.auditions@yale.edu for more information and to schedule an audition. Audition by January 18.

The COVID-19 pandemic has put a new face on the ISM’s choral activities, which will take place virtually for the spring semester.

Yale Camerata is holding auditions now until January 18. The pandemic provides a unique opportunity to open auditions to singers from anywhere in the world. Yale affiliates and experienced singers from outside the Yale community are encouraged to audition. Led by André J. Thomas, the chorus will give a virtual spring concert in May.

The spring program features works by composers from underrepresented groups, including Alma Bazel Androzzo, Maddalena Casulana, Juana Inés de la Cruz, Moses Hogan, Craig Hella Johnson, Rosephanye Powell, Florence Price, Jake Runestad, Joel Thompson, and Mari Esable Valverde.

Additional selections will be performed by the Chamber Chorus of the Camerata.

Synchronous rehearsals will be held virtually on Tuesday evenings (Eastern Time). The rehearsal season runs from February 2 through early May.

To see the kind of work that Camerata is doing, singers can view our 2020 Advent concert on YouTube.
