Praised by the Greek National Herald as having a “powerful and clear voice that dazzles audiences,” young Greek-American soprano Juliet Ariadne Papadopoulos has performed in venues all over the metropolitan area. Juliet discovered a love for music while singing with NYC’s Voyces as a child and continued her classical training at Fiorello H. LaGuardia High School of Music and Art. Juliet graduated summa cum laude from SUNY Purchase’s Opera program in May of 2022. Favorite opera roles included playing Susanna in Mozart’s Le Nozze di Figaro, Belinda in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas, and Constance in Poulenc’s Dialogues of the Carmelites. Juliet won the SUNY Purchase Concerto Competition and was invited back this past May to perform Mozart’s Exsultate, Jubilate with the Purchase Symphony Orchestra. She will be performing it again in March with the Woodstock Orchestra under the direction of Mina Kim.

Juliet is currently in the second and final year of her Master of Music degree at the Yale School of Music and the Institute of Sacred Music. With the Yale School of Music, she has performed as soprano soloist for J.S. Bach’s Magnificat and Christmas Oratorio, and Amy Beach’s Canticle of the Sun. Other favorite concert credits include Vaughan Williams’s Dona Nobis Pacem, Vivaldi’s Gloria, Schubert’s Magnificat, Brahms’s Liebeslieder Waltzes, and C.P.E Bach’s Magnificat. Recent solo performances include performing Mendelssohn’s Lobgesang at the Norfolk Chamber Festival, the world premiere of Edensongs by Aaron Jay Kernis at Yale’s Woolsey Hall, and the U.S. premiere of Theophanes the Greek by Savvas Karantzias at Symphony Space.

Juliet’s 2023 season includes Barber’s Knoxville: Summer of 1915 at Yale, Handel’s L’Allegro, il Penseroso ed il Moderato at Alice Tully Hall, NYC, and the role of Amaranthe in Charpentier’s La couronne de fleurs with The Sebastians in NYC. In January of 2024, she will sing the soprano solo in John Rutter’s Magnificat, conducted by the composer himself at Carnegie Hall (Stern Auditorium.) Juliet’s international season begins with a performance of Schoenberg’s Pierrot Lunaire at the Schoenberg Center in Vienna, followed by engagements in the UK as soprano soloist in J.S. Bach’s Mass in B minor with the Yale Schola Cantorum under the direction of David Hill.
