Hymn Festivals unite communities and celebrate the musical heritage of the Church. To join one’s voice with such a large group of singers, whether in the choir or in the audience, is a rare experience indeed. Participation in this event will deepen a love of hymns for all who attend, no matter what their denomination!
Institute students and faculty travel the world as a group for study tours every other year; the Institute defrays most of the costs of the tours. In 2004 the Institute visited Denmark and Sweden, and in May 2006 the destination was Mexico. More recently, the Institute visited Bosnia and Herzegovina, Serbia, and Croatia in 2008; and in 2010, Germany.
