Nathaniel Gumbs releases new solo organ recording

Congratulations to Nathaniel Gumbs, Yale University Director of Chapel Music and ISM staff member, on the recent release of his new solo organ recording, Selections from King of Kings: Organ Music of Black Composers, Past & Present.

This recording project, featuring Gumbs performing on Woolsey Hall’s Newberry Organ and released by Gia Publications, is comprised of organ works by Black composers from the 19th century to present day. The compositions come from a four-volume collection entitled King of Kings, also published by GIA. Composers featured in performance on this release include Florence B. Price, George Walker, Samuel Coleridge-Taylor, Eurydice Osterman, Fela Sowande, Trevor Weston and Uzee Brown, Jr.
