Organs at Yale

Students have the opportunity for practice and performance on the extensive collection of fine instruments at the University. In addition to the instruments listed individually here, there are two-manual practice instruments by Flentrop, Holtkamp, Casavant, and others in Woolsey Hall and at the ISM.

  • Battell Chapel Organ

    In 1951 Walter Holtkamp built one of his most important organs for Battell Chapel, the Transept Organ and Apse Organ. 

  • Bozyan Organ, Dwight Chapel

    The Bozyan Memorial Organ in Dwight Chapel features mechanical key action, and was built by Rudolf von Beckerath in 1971.

  • Continuo Organ

    Our Continuo organ is built by Taylor and Boody Organbuilders of Staunton, Virginia.

  • Krigbaum Organ, Marquand Chapel

    Taylor and Boody’s Op. 55 arrived on June 6, 2007 and was designed specifically for the newly renovated Marquand Chapel.

  • Marquand Chapel Organ, Skinner

    Marquand Chapel is home to Opus 866 of the Skinner Organ Company, built in 1931 and restored in 1986.

  • Newberry Organ, Woolsey Hall

    Looming above and behind the Woolsey Hall stage is the Newberry Memorial Organ, one of the most renowned Romantic organs in the world.
