Yale Schola Cantorum begins a new chapter under Grete Pedersen, uniting scholarship, performance, and global collaboration on an international stage.

From the March 5 performance of Bach’s Magnificat by Yale Schola Cantorum in Woolsey Hall. 

Grete Pedersen will lead the ensembles on the ISM’s biennial concert tour from May 25-31 to Trieste, Brescia, Venice, Perugia, and Rome.

Yale ISM welcomes world-renowned choral leader, Grete Pedersen as principal conductor of Schola Cantorum and professor of conducting.

Guest conductor Nicholas McGegan will lead Yale Schola Cantorum and Juilliard415 in New York and New Haven performances of Handel’s Jephtha

Northern Italy and Sicily will be the destinations of the 2026 Yale Schola Cantorum concert tour and the 2027 study trip.

From Aug. 27–30, the ISM will hold choral auditions for the 2025-26 season for Yale Schola Cantorum, Yale Camerata, and other ISM ensembles.

ISM alums met Grete Pedersen at a reception at July’s Carmel Bach Festival. She will become the new principal conductor of Schola Cantorum in January.

On Saturday, May 3, join us in Woolsey Hall to hear Yale Schola Cantorum sing Handel’s Dixit Dominus and works by Nordic and Baltic composers.

Masaaki Suzuki will conduct Yale Schola Cantorum and Juilliard415 in a program of Bach music in New York (Feb. 21) and New Haven (Feb. 22).

Professor Markus Rathey shines a light on the purpose and the source of Bach’s Actus tragicus, soon to be performed by Yale Schola Cantorum.
