Milokan is the unification of tou les lwa (all the divine energies) and all the mystical forces Vodouizan (Vodou practitioners) walk with. Many of these spirits, like Danto, Ogou, Legba, Danbala, we know by name. Others, though unknown, remain part of tout fòs mistik yo (all the mystical forces) that exist on the continent of Africa and crossed the ocean and intermingled with the divine forces in Ayiti. As such, this ceremony recognizes all the powerful forces that continue to guide devotees across times and spaces.
This event, presented by Manbo Maude and Sosyete Nago in Marquand Chapel, is a component of the ISM's 2025 Black Sacred Arts Conference: Centering the Black Sacred Arts: Research, Education, and Public Life. Although the full conference requires registration, the Fet Milokan event is free and open to the public with no need to register.

Manbo Maude is a dedicated and passionate manbo, with decades of experience leading and teaching “Sevis Ginen” within Vodou, the ancestral practice of Haiti. Being able to overcome adversity, she has become an influential figure to uplift the name of Vodou not only in her direct community, but globally as well.
Manbo Marie Maude Evans was born in Jacmel, Haiti, but in the early 1990s, she moved to the United States. Manbo Maude is not only a staple in her community, but she is also a representative of Haitian Vodou across the United States. She has given talks and conducted ceremonies at numerous colleges, including but not restricted to: Harvard University, Brown University, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, University of Vermont, Boston University, Duke University, Yale University, and University of California Los Angeles. Alongside giving talks, she also performs rituals year-round in Boston and in Haiti, which include ceremonies, healing rituals, divinations, initiations, spiritual weddings, and spiritual healings.
Sosyete Nago is a distinguished traditional Vodou house with its headquarters located in Boston and Jacmel, Haiti. We embrace a diverse community committed to sharing the profound strength and beauty of our Vodou tradition through our ritual practices. We emphasize the importance of mutual respect and honor, values deeply instilled by our elders and teachers. Founded in the mid-1990s by Manbo Maude (Antiola Bon Manbo), Sosyete Nago continues to uphold these principles as we engage with those on a similar spiritual path.
