Caspar was born and raised in Berlin, Germany, and completed his master’s degree in Protestant church music at the Berlin University of the Arts in May 2022. His musical path began early with private piano lessons and participation in the Berlin State and Cathedral Choir, where he was a member of staff while still a student. After completing his bachelor’s degree in Protestant Church Music (UdK Berlin), he was installed as replacement of cantor at Brandenburg an der Havel Cathedral for twelve months in 2017 and became interim musical director of the cathedral and all its choirs. From 2020 to 2023, Caspar was artistic director of the Cantorei at the Reformation Church, Berlin. On January 1, 2023, he took up the prestigious position of cantor at the Friedenskirche Potsdam-Sanssouci and shaped church music at this historic UNESCO-World Heritage site.
